Product Description
Lemongrass biomass is the raw, harvested plant material comprising the leaves and stalks of Cymbopogon species cultivated at optimal maturity. The biomass is harvested mechanically or manually from company-managed cultivation areas, ensuring consistent quality and traceability.
As the primary agricultural output, lemongrass biomass serves as the foundational feedstock for downstream processing operations, particularly steam distillation for essential oil extraction. The biomass may also be supplied directly for various agricultural and industrial applications.
Harvesting is timed to coincide with peak oil content in the plant material, typically 90-120 days after planting or previous harvest. Multiple harvests per year are achieved through ratoon cropping, with the perennial nature of lemongrass supporting 4-5 annual cuts.
